Romeo and Juliet

"Romeo and Juliet" is a romantic and at the same time tragic play by the classic of the world literature William Shakespeare (1564-1616). An ancient legend about the young lovers who belong to hostile families forms the basis of the tragedy and has not lost its actuality for centuries already. Love raises Romeo and Juliet over the absurdity of enmity which they got by right of inheritance, ennobles them, changes their and souls, finally, reconciles two families. But the finale of the play is tragic. The hostilities and regrettable coincidence entail the death of the lovers. This death is a defiant challenge to the society which, behind the and hatred strife, is unable to see the grandeur of love.
